‘Corpus Christi, Sáname’ is an attempt to depict the spiritual reality of a serendipitous encounter that I experienced when I was 20 years old. The title translated from Latin means “body of Christ, heal me” and is a line in an old hymn that I am fond of. Despite knowing very little Latin and not necessarily having a significant affinity for the language, I ultimately chose this title over a few other ideas due to its reference to the Eucharist.
This piece is part of the ‘Body and Soul’ Collection, which explores the intersection of physical reality and spiritual truth through the lens of the mystery of the Incarnation, as well as the belief that human persons are both spiritual and physical beings with inherent dignity.
